My /now page
Playing more video games than I have in years (thanks to PS Plus and EA Play), working at Gusto and thinking about emotional regulation a lot.
What I'm Reading
- Promises Stronger Than Darkness by Charlie Jane Anders (I read books one and two already and I highly recommend them - so fun)
- Even Greater Mistakes by Charlie Jane Anders
- Destroyer of Worlds by Matt Ruff
- Starter Villain by John Scalzi
What I'm Listening to
- Big Kick Energy: Two English comedians (Maisie Adam and Suzi Ruffell) talk about the Women's World Cup. Their excitement is great!
- Handsome: Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster and Mae Martin all hosting a podcast? Yes.
What I'm writing
Just stuff for work, mostly code, and Slack. I'm thinking about writing something, but it hasn't come together yet.
What I'm playing
- EA FC '24: Haven't played as much as I wanted... stupid sinuses... but I love the coed teams!
- Ratchet & Clank A Rift in Time: I got myself a PS5 so I can stop "borrowing" my son's PS4, and was delighted to see this game in PS+. Haven't gotten far (again, stupid sinuses) but it's gorgeous so far.
Finished Recently
- The Artful Escape: One of the prettiest and trippiest games I've played in a while. Finished it in about 6 hours, and loved every silly second of it. Part platformer, part rhythm game, totally on rails, so you can't really fail. The story is fun and the characters are great.
- Lake: It's a very relaxing game about reassessing what you want and delivering the mail. If you like driving a mail truck around a picturesque lake and meeting locals, it's a nice time.
- Carto: Adorable puzzle adventure about maps and families.
- The Wild at Heart: You guessed it, an adorable puzzle adventure that's very inspired by Pikmin and maybe a little by The Goonies.
What I’m watching
- The Fall of the House of Usher: Watching this with my son. We have two episodes left and we are hooked. It's amazing!
- Premier League: It's back! Hooray for soccer!
- WSL: Women's Super League is back! I'm also going to try to keep up with the NWSL playoffs, but evening games just don't fit in my schedule like the weekend morning games from the UK.
- Zom 100: Been watching this with my kids. It's hilarious.
- Foundation (finally all caught up, and it's one of the best things I've seen in a long time)
- For All Mankind: Finished season 3, now trying to wait patiently for season 4.
